The McKim Center | Building Strong Community Since 1821
For over 200 years, McKim has integrated physical education with peace education. Today our holistic, trauma-informed approach to youth athletics and coaching provides a powerful diversion for youth who benefit from our behavioral pillars of structure, discipline, love, and respect.
A large-scale youth Track & Field competition that has epitomized peace and sportspersonship for youth and families in the greater Baltimore area, this event is tentatively scheduled for Sunday April 27, 2025 or Saturday May 3, 2025 at Archbishop Curley High School. The McKim Center's annual summer camp features athletic programming in archery, soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and assorted games. The summer camp occurs during the month of July.
In collaboration with Wisdom Projects (also called the Baltimore Wisdom Project), which serves as the McKim Center's official Educational and Health Services Partner, the community center hosts a variety of trauma-informed programs for youth and parents emphasizing nonviolence, STEM, and healing. Every Sunday, the McKim Center hosts the longest running Narcotics Anonymous addiction and recovery group in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The McKim Center was the first organization in East Baltimore to commit to community healing for addiction and recovery over 75 years ago.
