The McKim Wrestling program is our flagship athletic program. Established in 1955, it has an award-winning record any community or school would be proud to claim. McKim competes against other wrestling teams on a statewide and national level. The program, designed for youth 6-14 years of age, draws interested contenders from neighborhoods throughout Baltimore due to its stellar reputation, roster of seasoned coaches, and winning track record. The benefits of the program go well beyond the wrestling mat and trophies, however. The mental and physical discipline that wrestling requires translates into confidence and achievement outside the gym, in the classroom, and beyond.
Track & Field
The McKim Track and Field program has expanded exponentially over the years to become our largest club, and it too attracts competitors from throughout Baltimore. Begun as a summer program, our teams now compete throughout the year both in indoor and outdoor meets. Recently, 35 members of the Track Club qualified to represent Baltimore City in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) program. Of those, 23 earned qualifying spots in the AAU Junior Olympics, held in Des Moines, Iowa.
The McKim program is designed for youth 5-18 years of age and each team member gets one-on-one training from a passionate and professional coaching staff. Emphasis is not only placed on form, speed, and winning, but also on character, sportsmanship, and discipline.
